Why are DLC achievements included in the normal game?

I want Saints Row: The Third, but don't really care for the DLC's. But if I don't spend 4x the amount of money, then I'll get all of the possible achievements and it'll only say 60% or so. I'm a pretty big achievement hunter, so I'm torn.

Does Assassins Creed Brotherhood Classic Edition include all DLC?

so regardless of what edition i get i will have to buy DLC? Normally the GOTY or DLC included editions are cheaper to buy than the normal version + buying DLC from marketplace.

i generally only buy DLC with achievements unless its really good.

 

Does Battlefield 2 require a online pass?

The normal 1000 points is still obtainable without the VIP code. The only extra thing achievement related included in the Ultimate edition(not including the BF1943 arcade game) is the onslaught DLC, you'll still have to pay for
the Specact weapons(AKA TMNT outfits) and the Vietnam expansion.

 

it's how it's always been on ps and Xbox it will separate the percentages when you click on the game into the main game and the subsequent dlc but from the main page it will as you say show 60% overall or something like that

 

I love when they sell the dlc with it. That game is probably cheap.

 

Ah, I remember when I used to 100% a game on the Xbox 360. Then they would add new DLC achievements and it would remove the game from my 100% completion list. That always annoyed me. Especially if I didn't want to buy the DLC.

 

I wish I could tell the difference between if it's Core game or dlc when it pops up myself.

 

You would have to use a 3rd party site like trueachievements.com if you wanted to track game completions by base game vs game with DLC. In Xbox live land it only counts completions if you also finish all the DLC specific achievements in addition to main
game... probably why i'll never finish 100% GTA IV... DLC... yuck

Well DLC is apart of the game and so are the achievements. Most players who purchase a game and like it will most likely purchase the DLC and complete it as well. It has always been this way. If you would like to complete it fully, you could always purchase
said DLC.

Good question, I ran into asking this when I was playing Super Lucky's Tale and was really mad when I found out I have to purchase the DLC to unlock all of them. Just another way to sell DLC I guess, sort of a nothing you can do about it type of thing.

 

Especially on the Game Pass. Games are available, but DLCs are not. I wanted them included in the package. If not, at least make available a version of Game Pass already with DLCs at all.

 

I totally understand this. I am all about the % completion of achievements. Some of these back compat games have convinced me to buy DLC because of this, others haven't. Once that game gets lower and lower in my profile, I tend to think about it less.
