why are debit cards not accepted?

ive used mine on xbox live before but I don't understand why its not working now... please help make them acceptable

You cannot use a debit card to set up an account and most pre-paid credit cards will not work. However, most banks are now using a debit/credit card for accounts. Why not check your bank out and see if they have that feature as that card will work for
the account.

Credit cards. Be careful all of you debit card users. Credit cards are insured, debit cards are not.

 

Have u tried putting those info here on xbox.com?

 

The card will work you need your long number and other info as well there mite be some reason why they are not ex your card

(1) you have not got the right money in there

(2)sometimes xbox do updates so for your and other customer they mite not accept the card till they have done the updates so do not worry

(3)when you put your card details on xbox they ask you if you want to save it on the site all xbox if you say yes you need to put a password in so no other person can use it.

Debit cards are accepted. Most likely your bank is rejecting the authorization check for the card. It doesn't matter if it works everywhere else, the bank may still reject it from Xbox.

 

Please give phone support a call for account issues. Most any card with a Visa/MC Logo will work including Gifttcards and Paypal. GOOD LUCK!!!

 

I paid for a month gold service which was up today as I had to re-new....I tried several times to renew for one month but xbox would not allow me to do this on 2 different debit cards...guess what?.....I requested a 3 month membership which was accepted
with the same cards that I have on my account...further more my cards that are logged on my xbox account are set to auto renewal!!!!.....Mircosoft you stink!
