Why am I unable to send a request to join a game

If I may ask, may I have the exact error message upon sending a join game request?

Kindly try to check your current NAT type on your console. Here's how:

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings.
Under Current Network Status, the NAT Type field displays your current NAT type.

Open NAT: You're able to play and host multiplayer games with people who have any NAT type on their network.

Moderate NAT: You might not be able to play multiplayer games with some people, and normally you won't be chosen as the host of a match.

Strict NAT: You're only able to play multiplayer games with people who have an OPEN NAT type. You can't be chosen as the host of a match.

Unavailable NAT: If NAT is unavailable, you’ll be unable to use party chat or connect to multiplayer games for some Xbox titles.

Please take your time and let me know which type of NAT type shows up on your end.

I've sent out a couple of friend requests. However, with this new format I was unable to find how to send a message along stating who I am and why I'm sending the seemingly random request, lol

It still didn't work. It is still saying "Unable to send request"

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

Kindly perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

" 1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state."

I appreciate the update. This may be related to your account as well. You can simply sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings and from there make sure that these settings are set to “allow” or “everyone”:

* You can see and upload community creations

* You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text

* Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites

* You can play with people outside of Xbox Live

* You can create and join clubs

* You can join multiplayer games

Make sure to hit “submit” when you made any changes.
