Why am I unable to hear party members when I am in a chat?

I have figured out the issue. For some reason when I have the option set to channel sound through both the headset and TV it really mutes the sound going to the headset for some reason. When I switch to headset only for party chat it instantly triples or quadruples the sound entering the headset. Not sure why but I am unable to allow my girlfriend to listen to my party chat while I play (it's less boring for her to watch when she can hear the people I'm playing with also).

The auto off is designed to help save battery life. The charger cable prevents it from shutting off, at the cost of a REALLY annoying buzzing sound. Sometimes your party members can hear it, sometimes not, and the volume seems to be random. Also, I've noticed
that if I am in a private chat with one person, my controller will not shut off...I am not sure why. It stays on for hours and hours in a private chat, but in parties it shuts off after about 10 min of inactivity.

On which platform did the problem occur?

This problem usually appears when your network can't connect well to Xbox Live.

Please check your current NAT type first. To do this(if you are using xbox console):

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
   
2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings.
   
3. Under Current Network Status, the NAT Type field displays your current NAT type.
   

You need your NAT type to be Open to play online gaming normally. You also need to be sure there are no errors such as Double NAT detected or UPnP not successful displayed.

And here are also some troubleshooting steps you can try if you are using PC:

• Change your DNS.
  

1. Open Control Panel: You can do this by searching for “Control Panel” in the Start menu.
   
2. Click on Network and Internet: This will open a new window with various internet settings.
   
3. Click on Network and Sharing Center: This will open a new window with your current network settings.
   
4. Click on Change adapter settings: This option is located on the left pane of the Network and Sharing Center window.
   
5. Right-click the network interface connected to the internet, and select Properties: This will open a new window with the properties of your network connection.
   
6. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) from the list: This will highlight the option in the list.
   
7. Click on Properties: This will open a new window where you can change the DNS settings
   

1. Try different DNS (e.g. 8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4,4.2.2.1,4.2.2.2)
   

• Enable TLS1.0-1.2
  

1. Open the Internet Properties window by pressing Windows + R and typing inetcpl.cpl.
   
2. Under the Advanced tab, scroll down to find Use TLS 1.0~Use TLS 1.2. If it is not selected, check the box and click on Apply.

It is for every game, When I am in a party and I go to game chat it does not work when I am not even in a party it does not work and for Overwatch it tells you when you are in game chat and yet I still can not hear or talk to anyone although it will show
when others are talking.

I am experiencing a similar issue. Could not chat with friends in party chat, but when I left, I could talk to and hear everyone in Battlefield.
