Why am i requesting permission for a game if I'm 18 plus?

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues playing a game due to parental consent requirement. I understand that you are over the age of 18 and should no longer be required to ask for consent.

If you are an adult but have the wrong birth date on the account, you need to change the account information as if you were a child.

Sign in to your Microsoft account, as if you were a child

Select Learn more about parent/guardian consent at the bottom of the information prompt.

On the next screen, click Update account information .

If prompted, enter your name and click Update .

Next, you will see the screen to update your date of birth.

If your profile is properly configured but you're still getting the error message, I would recommend that you contact Xbox support for your profile to be checked further and apply changes as necessary. You may follow these steps:

Go to https://support.xbox.com/contact-us

Verify that you are within the support window listed under Contact hours.

Click "Contact Us."

Choose the item from the drop-down menu that best addresses your issue.

View the support articles that are offered on the page to see if they can address your issue. If you need more help, click See contact options.

Choose the option to "Chat online" or "Request a call" on the following screen, then fill in the required information.

Ohhhh by the way i swear, as I'm over 18,and the people i was with are 18 ad over, but one little kid said stop swearing, there's no given right for you to stop me!! There is a right if it's for 18 years and over for a little kid that shouldn't be playing
the game to sanction me?? It's you that are in the wrong , allowing kids on 18 plus games ,, the persecuting the 18 plus for actually being ON an 18 plus game and swearing. Moderate the fields.

well the is a way of getting rid of parental controls go to account managment and from there it should let u swith to an adult account!.

Does your mom also have an Xbox Gamercard? If so, she needs to change the email address associated with her ID to a new one. That can be done on Xbox.com, "My Xbox > Accounts". If you are on an Xbox LIVE Gold Family plan, she can also manage the parental
controls under "My Xbox > Family Center".

I am running into a similar issue (being under 18 but having permission from my parents) however I was able to download the Battlefield 3 demo/beta. I was wondering why i was allowed to download that but not mass effect 3?
