Why am I not receiving the verification code in my Hotmail inbox when trying to sign in to...

i get the error when i try to download my profile. cleared the cache few times, turned it off/on, spoke with xbox live (chat), reset the password many times now. and when i try to contact WLID support, it says they can't show the page, try again later.
still can't download my profile. i also put my cell # in hotmail trying to unblock my email for the verification code. It said I'll need to wait a few minutes to receive the code via SMS, but that was hundreds of minutes ago.

thinking of closing my account altogether, - hotmail account, the gold membership, MS points, and downloads pending

Thank you for the response, I mostly only noted the two emails as means to explain that I am still able to receive the verification email, but for only one account, when I need it sent to the other account, and it's only when I try to sign in on the app store and Xbox apps that it requires me to use a verification code.

I can log in just fine elsewhere, like xbox.com and my console, just not the app store/ Xbox companion app on PC (because I'm not getting the verification that isn't going to my email)

Sorry, I should clarify, I mean when you are receiving security codes at xbox.com. I could potentially be wrong about the outlook domain, but I was pretty sure it was included. LIVE and Hotmail I'm positive don't do it, because when you sign into the account
on xbox.com, and attempt account management, and it needs to verify you are you, it would be pointless to verify the person by sending it to the same email used to login, because if that email was compromised, it would be a self defeating security check. You
can, however, receive the website verification code at a different Hotmail or LIVE email than the one you're logging in with. I'll have to research a bit more to confirm this for outlook emails.
