    Why am I not getting friend notifications????


    For over a month now, every time I’m on my Xbox and one of my favorite friends gets on, I don’t get any notification that they are on, neither on the Xbox or on the app. I was hoping it would be resolved in the console update but so far it seems to have not been fixed. I have tried turning off the notifications are turning them back on, it doesn’t work.

    Same issue since the may 10 update rolled out. As long as people keep making reports Microsoft will hopefully hurry to push an update. It won’t work until they release a patch/update fixing it. Party invites still work, so as annoying as it is, if whoever you normally communicate with sends a party invite as soon as they get online you’ll get that notification and know they’re online without having to check.

    Sorry for the trouble, Timothy. Just a friendly reminder though that there are indeed multiple reports in regard to the same issue, however, there are no official announcements yet from Microsoft themselves.

    Kindly try managing the notifications by blocking then allowing the notification for favorite friends again.

    Yes we have received multiple reports regarding this particular notification issue, however, no official announcements have been made by Microsoft .In the meantime we can just perform troubleshooting steps.

    But since you have gone through all that I recommend you to file a report to the Xbox teams and help bringing attention to this issue

    Still showing as a friend when unfriended

    I have those security settings in place. That still does not address the reason I am still on his friends list and why I get notification of him getting on line.

    In settings, there is an option to turn on or off for notifications.
