Why am I getting higher ping on one account compared to the other?

Sorry to hear about that, however, kindly note that since you're in a public forum most of us here are end-users and have no access to accounts.

In my opinion, your account doesn't have anything to do with your ping as it relies on your internet connection and your Epic account. If Epic tried to resolve it and didn't see anything in your account, it might be the game servers assigning your main account to different (farther) servers due to your past gameplay history, skill level, or matchmaking preferences. But in most cases, it might be your internet connection already.

In the meantime, you may try the following troubleshooting steps:

-Press and hold the Xbox button in the center of your Xbox controller to open the Power Center.

-Select Restart console.

-Select Restart.

If it doesn't work, try a full power cycle:

-Press the Xbox button in front of the console until it shuts down.

-Unplug the power cables from the back of the console and on the wall socket.

-Wait for 10 seconds

-Plug in again and turn on the console

You may want to clear the MAC address too, by going to your Network Settings > Advanced Network Settings > Alternate MAC address > Select Clear and your console will restart.

Those speeds are comparable to mine, but your ping is much higher than mine. You're ranging about 50-60 ping. I get about 8-10 ping, which is why I probably used to pull host so often. I took care of that.

The speed test is just a general test to the Microsoft server. The fact that it's higher (potentially a lot higher) than the ping you get from an internet speed test site should be of no real concern. Do you suffer lag in online games?

I can't explain why it's higher now than what why it was before. It maybe that the location of the test server is now further away than what it was before. The 'ping' measured in milliseconds (ms) is more about distance than speed.

No matter how good and how fast your internet connection is, connecting to a server hundreds of miles away from your location will always get a higher ping than one from a few miles away.

That does not mean that a high ping on the test means that you'll now have a high ping when playing online. Most gaming services you use to play with others online on Xbox Live are not even run by Microsoft. For example, all of EA's online games run off EA servers.

I had a problem like this before. I found out that it was caused by my internet ping. My internet ping was way higher then it should have been. Try testing your internet speed and see what your ping is compared to your download/upload speed. Speedtest.net
