Why am I getting charge 12.99 a month for something I've never used

Does the charge show in your account's order history? Check here: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders/

Thank you for confirming. In this case, the charge must be coming from a different account. Please check with family and friends in case they have used your payment method on their account for a subscription.

If they haven't, and you can't find any trace of the charges on your accounts, please contact your bank to dispute these charges and report your card as compromised. Microsoft can only discuss these charges with the account holder.

So has the £1 upgraded my core to ultimate for 6 months? Or will I be charged £12.99 each month?

So basically it's pointless getting core as you have to pay for core which is say £4 a month plus the £12.99 for ultimate a month...when you could just get ultimate for £12.99...

I don't mind d paying £12.99 as a conversion cost once but each month? Surely that can't be right.

As stated on the Xbox website, there are a few reasons this may happen:

" You have an Xbox subscription or trial that was auto-renewed and charged you for additional time.

You’re sharing your Microsoft account or don't have your account password protected.

Someone in your household or Xbox family group made the purchase without your consent. "
