    Why Am I A Alpha Insider Not Getting The New OS & Store That Came Out Weeks Ago


    I've been in the preview program for like 4 years and I'm a pretty high level so imagine my surprise when I see a bunch of players and YouTubers giving their feedback on the latest Xbox updates and me not having it. Even days or a week later after others have gotten it. I've repeatedly checked for system updates and everything and it says I'm up to date. [Situation]

    Why is someone like me not worthy of being able to test and give feedback to these alpha builds as an alpha insider but others are? This is what I've been doing the last 4 years of my life on Xbox I deserve a chance to help improve these early builds too, what's with the favoritism if were in the same preview we should get it at the same time. [My Opinion On The Situation]

    Your saying that the latest version of the Xbox OS has bricked your external HDD?

    HOW?

    How could that possibly happen?

    Nothing about the system OS goes onto the external HDD, so why would it brick it?

    Also I've been in the Insider program for a couple of years (think I'm an Alpha Insider) and nothing on my system has been bricked and like I said I'm an Alpha Insider so I get really dodgy OS's.

    Fill out a detailed report, giving make and model of headset you use and send it to the development team.

    I am in Alpha Skip ahead and sometimes get these issues. You could try backing out of the Insider program, to a public build and seeing if things work.

    Remember Alpha and Alpha Skip Ahead are the cutting edge OS builds and can be full of bugs.

    The "new" Edge is currently only available to Alpha Skip Ahead Insider preview members.

    Insider issues are handled by Reddit Xbox Insiders forum. This forum is for General release OS issues.

    Edit.. As of 22nd July "new" Edge is available to Alpha, Beta, Delta Insider previews so it is getting closer to a General release.

    Sounds like your console is enrolled in the Delta Xbox Insiders preview. If so, you should check the Xbox Insider Forum on Reddit.

    The reason you may be getting large 2GB updates is you missed a preview update and the console will download the complete updated OS specific to the Delta preview.

    If your only internet access is a phone hotspot I suggest you unenroll from all Insider previews and return the console to the General release OS for xbox consoles.

    For example, my console is enrolled in the Alpha skip ahead preview and I do 3-4 updates to the OS a week. It doesn't take long to use 2GB a week just in OS updates.
