Who used my xbox gift card

If you contacted Xbox support and gave them the codes for security purposes without verifying ownership of the accounts that were brought up with the code they would not be able to tell you who redeemed the codes.

How Xbox support verifies ownership of accounts is this.

When they bring up an account the only option it gives them is to hit a button that sends out a 6 digit verification code to ANY email and/or phone number on the account (it does not show them the email or phone number it is being sent to) If you receive
the code at any phone number/email then give it to them they will then be able to get into the account and see what email and gamer tag is attached to that account otherwise they can not see any information on the account till that verification is done.

This is the ONLY way that you will be able to find out what account the xbox gift card money was put on to.

There is no way to determine who redeemed the code if it was not you without releasing private information. If you did not redeem the code please contact the retailer to see if they can issue you a different code.

Did you buy physical gift cards in a store where you had to rub off a protective silver strip covering the code or tear off a paper tab to reveal the code? Or was it a large official code reseller like Amazon, that sends the code to your own user account?

Or did you buy a "cheaper" code from a code selling site like G4A or something like that, where the code is being sent to your email address?

Unfortunately, code selling sites like G4A are also a marketplace, where other (malicious) users can offer codes for sale, and such a user might have sold you an already used code.

Microsoft will not tell you who redeemed the code for privacy reasons.

You will have to contact the store support where you bought the code from, and they often want you to contact Microsoft support to have them confirm that the code was used NOT by you.

So contact the official support via chat (so that you can take a screenshot of the conversation) via
https://support.xbox.com/contact-us and instead of having them tell you who redeemed the code (which they won't), ask them to tell you that your account did NOT redeem the code
itself.

Take a screenshot of the conversation and then contact the support of the store you bought the code from, and tell them that they sold you a used code.

Sorry to hear you are running into this problem. Where were these 2 codes purchased? The codes that you received should not have been activated until they were scanned at the store. How long was it between purchasing and attempting to use them? Unless somebody
else had access to those codes within that time they should be ready to go. But other than this there is no other reason why these codes would be showing that message when attempting to redeem them.

In order to purchase a gift card for someone who lives in another region you have to buy it from a another retailer that sells that region code using your credit card. You can't gift it over Xbox. I just brought a gift card for my cousin who lives in Canada
from online and they had no problem redeeming the code.
