    I think the lifespan of the xbox will be pretty long. If the 360 came out in 2006, i think, and its still kicking? Yeahhhh....xbox one will be around for a loooong time.

    Maybe with this new Microsoft's vision the things will be different.

    There is the rumour that Microsoft are no going to do another "console generation" and it could be true.

    Halo Infinite is considered to play it on Xbox One, PC and Scarlett, so... I think Xbox One will have more lifespan than any console ever.

    I think it will last quite a while. The hardware is a little dated on the oldest consoles but still powerful enough for a few more years, maybe more.

    The fact they are paying close attention on backward compatibility on xbox one games and the introduction of the xcloud, i assume it would continue for as long as the HW permits. As you say, the 360 is just about clinging on.
