    White, Pinpoint Flashing Issue with XBox Series S


    Hi all, I've scoured the internet looking for info on this issue but haven't found anyone else who has encountered it.

    Yesterday I bought an XBox Series S, and when I play Borderlands 3 on the XBox, the screen is constantly interrupted by these bright white flashes. The flashes don't appear to be the same issue that other Series X users have encountered; i.e. it's not the screen flickering - the flashes themselves seem to originate from random points on the screen, and are just big flashes of white, some bigger than others.

    So far I've tried the following: - turning on and off all the Video settings; 4K, HDR, etc. - turning on and off Y4:4:2 encoding (hopefully I got that name right) - checking for firmware/software updates - none required of either the xbox or TV - changing HDMI cables

    I'm now at a loss; none of the above fixed the issue. I have a feeling that it's got something to do with an incompatibility between my TV and the Series S; I have a TCL P6 Series 4K UHD TV bought in late 2018.

    My hunch is between an older model TV and the Series S which can't quite manage 4K (1440p is the maximum right?) it's causing this issue.

    Just want to check if there are any more suggestions other than forking out for a new TV :'(

    Edit: Further to the above, this issue is only encountered when playing BL3 - no such issue watching Netflix or on the menu screen of the XBox. BL3 is the only game I have presently.

    No it's longer and white, with no black circle on it. It's still a series s Xbox and when I looked up compatible consoles for this game it said the series s.

    Please check the setting below.
    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    Select Profile & system > Settings.
    Under General, select TV & display options.
    Video fidelity and overscan > Overrides > Change it to HDMI.

    If you have another HDMI cable, please try it with another cable to further isolate the issue.
