White Flickers while watching movies/streaming? 4k UHD 60hz monitor no HDR

I just got a 4k monitor and everything works fine while playing games but when I go to streaming apps I get these white flickers periodically.

Things I've tried:

Power Cycling and restarting Series X

Resetting Console OS

Reinstalling Media Apps

Replacing HDMI cords (One that came with my Xbox, one brand new)

Switching HDMI inputs

Resetting Monitor Settings

Changing Color space from Standard to PC RGB

Changing Color Depth

Allowing all options under video modes

Any help would be appreciated. It works when I set to 1080p/use media apps or play games in 4k.

Update: It's now flickering in games

I had the same / similar issue with my old 4K 60hz none HDR / HDMI 2.0 monitor when watching movies and some times in games with the Series X,

As soon as i upgraded my monitor to a 4K 144hz monitor that has HDR / HDMI 2.1 ports, i no longer had this problem,

I'm not sure what the problem is, but my guess is that the HDMI 2.1 port on Series X doesn't play well with HDMI 2.0 port of monitors, or it's the Series X trying to force HDR on, even if the monitor does not have / support HDR and the HDR in Series X menu's is turned off.

Please download and submit a ticket to “Report a Problem” on your console for Xbox engineers to take a look at the issue. Here’s our official support resource on providing feedback and reporting problems.

Here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try:

Test the console on another monitor or screen if available and see if the issues reproduce
Testing the display by using the Display port on the monitor with an adapter
Updating monitor firmware

Sorry to hear that you're still having troubles with your display. I found this list of troubleshooting steps, specifically the section "If your system should support 4k and HDR but isn't working." Please take a look at the list that opens after you select the drop down menu and try some of the troubleshooting steps there. Some of them you have already tried (like testing HDMI cables).

I hope some dev is working on fixing the problem. I'd really like to be able to watch movies in 4k with the monitor I have. That reddit thread is from almost a year ago which is not hope-inspiring lol

I can try getting a hdmi to display-port adapter. Will the 4k work the same?

The issue here is that I'd like to use the 4k feature on the monitor I have. It works fine on my other monitor that's 1080p.

Sidenote: I don't have the ability to update firmware on my monitor.
