Which USB port to plug the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 in for best performance

XBF Diego: Yes, I plugged to one of the ports labelled 8. It did not work and I put to the one in the same column and it worked. I did not plug back to see what happened.

Darkhawk: So the Elite wireless controller does not turn off automatically after some inactivity? What happen if I don't turn off my controller after I am done with it? It just drains power?

Glad you've been able to finally pair it. I wanted to share with you my experience. I use an Xbox wireless adapter with windows 10, as well. I have used it in the 3.0 and the 2.0 ports and have seen no difference in performance. In terms of Latency (delay),
there is little to none when I use the USB 2.0 port.

Lastly, to turn off your controller after you're done using it, you can either hold the big glowing Xbox button on the controller for 10 seconds till it turns off. Or, the controller will turn off when you shut down your computer, as well.

Have you tried to plug it back into the first port that was not detecting the adapter to see if it still isn't detecting it? If you are referring to the ports labeled as number 8 on the figure, then the ports right next to each other are the same USB 3.1
gen 2 port. It's possible that port just needs a restart of the PC to detect devices. Have you tried plugging in any other device in the same port to test if it recognizes any other device?
