Which is better to connect via ethernet when streaming games to a laptop?

it does make difference, as I have checked from the Xbox support it is recommended to have an ethernet cable connected on both. Here you go: "Wired - Ethernet connection (recommended for both PC and Xbox One console)"

My Series X has only ever been connected tom the internet via Wi-Fi (and my Xbox One before that) and I have never had issues with connections, games lagging etc...in fact, my connection is better than some of the people I play with who use a wired connection. Most of it comes down to how good your connection is, how far from the local exchange you are etc

I think the only way for this to work would be to stream your console to your laptop using the xbox app on your laptop, it would be better if both devices are connected via ethernet cable instead of wifi

I don't torrent movies or tv shows or music. But I do have a buttload of media backup on my laptop (Windows 8.1) which I stream to my One via the Play To feature. Works like a dream when everything is wired. When my laptop is not connected via ethernet there
is some lag in video. Only problem I have had with the streaming is .mkv files aren't recognized but I convert those to MP4 and poof they work like a dream.

I am also having the same issues. My xbox is connect via Ethernet and laptop wireless and when I play BF4 or Titanfall it just disconnects from the stream and then when I go to stream again its disconnect from ea too. I have a netgear nighthawk router which
runs perfectly fine for the other xbox which runs through the tv but the one I stream with is having these issues.
