I'd like Mass Effect to rest and only being brought back if there's a reason for it to be brought back. I suppose I'm not a diehard fan of the Mass Effect series, so I don't know.

Remember Splinter Cell: Double Agent? Remember the first Hulk movie? When someone completely drops the ball, it's not uncommon for him to act like his friends just saw him out having a romantic dinner with an ugly chick. "I don't know what you're talking
    about. That never happened"

We're not talking about actual events. They can write whatever plot they feel like, because they feel like it.
The Incredible Hulk was a reboot of the first Hulk movie and that is still considered part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Can't speak to Splinter Cell as I've only played the one game in the franchise.

If they wanted to reboot Mass Effect, as with the Hulk/Incredible Hulk movies, then I would have far less issues with that than I would them just hand-waving away the events of the trilogy in a sequel.
Not to mention, one of the endings had Shepard gasping for air like he just regained consciousness. It would be pretty easy for them to run with that. Not that I think they will, I just wish they would.
High EMS destroy showed
    Shepard taking a breath.

A corpse can take a breath.

Given the horrible injuries Shepard suffered prior to getting blown-up by walking toward an exploding tube then the odds would be highly in favour, if this wasn't being just a corpse breath, of that being Shepard's final breath.

@voteDC, that was my biggest issue with the ending (I view the entire game as the ending since it works better that way) the 4 endings gave the player too much control over a story that needed a more definite end. I wished it was more like the first 2 where
the game always had the same plot driven ending for the most part but you still get your crucial choice, especially considering they knew it would get a sequel of some sort. That said it's gotta be that destroy is the canon ending it's the only universal ending
that you can get no matter what aside from not doing anything.

  4. Where would you like to see the Mass Effect Series go?

I'd like it to return as an RPG and not the complete mess on rails that was me2 and me3.

  5. It think it would be kinda cool if they incorporated a party system kind of like Dragon Age where you could actually switch between your party characters at any time to play as.

Instead of playing as just Shepard or a new protagonist you can actually play the other characters hands on!

@voteDC. The second Hulk movie basically pretended the first one never happened. The same thing with Splinter Cell. People act like "canon" is irreversible fact. When in actuality, it can be changed as easily as sitting down in front of a keyboard.

And yeah, corpses can take a breath. They also twitch and fart. If you honestly are about to try and tell me that Bioware spent the time and effort to make a scene with Shepard gasping for air only to say "yeah, that was his corpse taking a breath" my brain
    will literally explode.

And I think you got the "final breath" thing backwards. This is done all the time in cinema. Always. Let me clarify, ALWAYS, it shows the persons breathing slow down, some times taking short shallow breaths, until eventually it stops. They do this to signify
death. Something else done all the time, is when they show a not breathing person suddenly gasp for air. They do this to signify life. That is so kick in the teeth obvious, there's really nothing else I can say about that

And what? Horrible injuries from an explosion? Please, tell me you're joking. Shepard fell from orbit, and was headbutting Krogan 10 minutes later. Nothing short of him being vaporized at a molecular level would have me believing that they couldn't bring
him back on a whim because they felt like it. And even then, that's what clones are for.

  7. I'd like it to say Uh Oh like my Avatard?

Really though, series had such great potential and yes I'm a picky RPG fan. But I'm looking at Bioware and their ability to make a great game and then releaseing a sequel that's average, Dragon Age, I'm looking at you

That wasn't Bioware's fault. Before they were acquired by EA, Bioware would spend 3 to 4 years working on a single game. And whenever they released one, it was flat out amazing. Then EA stepped in to the picture and they were forced to pump out DA2 in less
than 18 months. They did the best they could with the time they had. However, I think EA learned their lesson on that one and has since given Bioware more time to do what they do. Not enough, but more.

  9. Good point Sword Style, Is this the same with Mass Effect and it's sequel though? Anyway, I have more confidence with the next Dragon Age at least.

I guess I should admit that I absolutely loved the 1st Mass Effect and finished it on both Ps3 and 360. Then Me2 is released and it's a shooter on rails or personal bio's on the previous characters.

@. The second Hulk movie basically pretended the first one never happened.
Yes because it was a reboot.

Ang Lee's Hulk is not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, whereas the Incredible Hulk movie is.

The point is that just because Shepard took a breath, doesn't necessarily equate to life or survival.

In fact given the theme of sacrifice in the endings, I'd say the odds are with the last gasp of a dying Shepard.

Then again. This is why Mac Walters wrote "lots of speculation for everyone" in his notes about the endings.
And what? Horrible injuries from an explosion? Please, tell me you're joking. Shepard fell from orbit, and was headbutting Krogan 10 minutes later. Nothing short of him being vaporized at a molecular level would have me believing
that they couldn't bring him back on a whim because they felt like it. And even then, that's what clones are for.
It took two years, billions of credits and resources from across the galaxy to rebuild Shepard, none of which they'll have available on
an Earth that will barely be able to take care of its own people. Not to mention the thousands of turians, quarians, Krogan, salarians and asari that are going to be kicking about.

At a minimum it'll be four years, the amount of time it takes to reach the nearest star system at FTL, to get the resources. And that is counting on the people at either end managing to repair the mass relays for the quick journey back.

Cloning is a possibility but then again as the Citadel DLC showed, just because you clone a person doesn't mean its them.

It wasn't a reboot. If it was, they would have started over from the beginning. Hence the name "reboot". Nice try, though.

Mind blown. Denial is an ugly mistress. Especially when blatant and obvious common sense is punching you in the face.

You're mistaken. It didn't take billions of anything. It took the writer deciding he wanted to bring Shepard back to life.

A clone is them if the writer feels like making it them. You act like you're reading this out of history book. I think you need to touch base with reality, pal.

Make it a straight up FPS with kill and death streaks and add dogs.

No? ok well, Id like to see a new story in the next Cycle , with nods to the previous cycle and the actions of Shephard and his or her crew.

That's it. Just a really good story

  13. Where would you like to see the Mass Effect Series go?

I want a continuation, but without Sheppard. I want the story to pick up like so many years after Mass Effect 3. Everything that happened all through out the original trilogy happened and is referenced and everything, but you go on a whole new adventure.

All of the original cast should be dead or "retired" or something. I don't want anyone rejoining my team.

  14. I had this discussion many times after the ME3 ending. I am sure Sheppard will be back on the X1 eventually. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few prequels and fillers while we are waiting. I truly enjoyed the online 4 player co-op horde mode so hopefully
that makes a return. I still play it every so often and still enjoy it. Co-op missions online would be fun too.

It wasn't a reboot. If it was, they would have started over from the beginning. Hence the name "reboot". Nice try, though.
You're referencing the Incredible Hulk still?

Yes it very much was a reboot. They did start again from the beginning. They completely changed the origin in the opening credits to something far closer of that used in the TV series (in fact some of it was shot for shot.)
Mind blown. Denial is an ugly mistress. Especially when blatant and obvious common sense is punching you in the face.
Have you actually watched the films? It is quite clear they take place in separate continuities. With Ang
Lee's Hulk film being in a separate 'universe' to that of the Marvel cinematic universe, in which The incredible Hulk movie takes place.
You're mistaken. It didn't take billions of anything. It took the writer deciding he wanted to bring Shepard back to life.
The writer came up with a method to bring Shepard back to life. A method that consisted of billions
of credits and far reaching resources.
A clone is them if the writer feels like making it them. You act like you're reading this out of history book. I think you need to touch base with reality, pal.
I think you need to touch base with good writing. When creating a story you must remain consistent within the rules of that universe. Clones in the Mass Effect Universe are not the person the they are cloned from.

If you want to change that you must come up with an explanation that fits within the 'rules'. I can come up with one quite easily and relates to something introduced in the Kasumi DLC of Mass Effect 2.
