    Why can I not allow Third-Party apps on my son's computer?

    All links about this issue go to a page that does not have this setting (example: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/family-safety-third-party-app-issue/267a043b-27fb-4b20-928a-dfe3eb3d4722).

    I purchased Microsoft Flight Simulator on Steam and when it starts it tries to log into XBox. When the "log in" button is pressed the error message says "Your parent has blocked access to games and apps that aren't published by Microsoft".

    Hey! Figured I would reply to the resolution. The controls I needed were indeed showing up under her account rather than mine. So that actually fixes the issue.

    But its weird because we both know I am the one that created the family, did the accounts and added her later.

    Anyway,

    Yes, he is a member. His account is the first one listed in the "Family" window on the main account page. When I click that page he is the third one listed under "Your Family" on the "Family Safety" page.

    You don't see the option to approve blocked app or game requests by adding them to the Always allowed list under Content Filters?

    You were the one that added your son to your family group or the kids' mother did it?

    Have you tried to sign in with her account to see if she can edit the kids permissions and consent?
