Where is Microsoft's response to Steam OS?

Actually, I believe Microsoft will have to integrate such a system in order to keep up with the upcoming Steam OS. With Steam OS, you pick the hardware and game the way you want to. Oh and don't worry about the cost of Steam OS it'll be free. Of course,
they will make money off of the games you buy, but that's the big idea anyway.

I even linked you to the latest Steam hardware survey and a survey where it is shown to be a fraction of the OSes that people use for gaming on Steam. You know, Steam, the platform responsible for 75% of game sales on the PC? Games? Those things the 360
plays, the gaming PC being a competing platform?



XP has support until 2014. This is normal for MS. OSes do not get continued support forever. Are you next going to complain that you can't run certain 16bit Windows 3.11 apps?

They are the same thing. Steam Box is a computer, Steam is the OS (currently software but will be the OS). If you are using Steam then you have a Steam Box.

Microsoft went the route of encrypted folders for the games, this is encrypted to that one install of the OS, if you re-install the OS then this breaks the encryption and all games must be downloaded again. steam allows you to access the games folders, Microsoft does not, this is Microsoft version of DRM.
