    It depends on how you bought it.

    If you bought it straight from Xbox, the Gold would have been added directly to your account. You would either need to cancel the order and repurchase it on your son's account, or set the console he uses as your Home console in order to share it with him.

    If you bought it as a digital code online, usually you get the code as an email within 24 hours.
