    Where did my progress go?


    I play Sea of Thieves on PC, launching from Steam. Just recently I tried to come back after not having played for a month or two and when I log into XBox Live, it launches the game as if I've never played it before and to create a character and my XBox Profile shows zero play time. Meanwhile Steam still shows my ~60 hours and 30 something achievements. How do I get my progress back from this screw up?

    So its seems like the progress was deleted from your steam account?

    Jakaal, and did you don’t know if maybe your sea of thieves was connected to another Microsoft account inside steam?

    Another option could be contact sea of thieves support in the link below to see if they can help you further locating your account or restoring the progress if possible:

    May I know if you have crossplay enabled for sea of thieves?

    And also, could you double check if your Microsoft account is linked with your Steam account?

    If yes, try unlink the account and then link it again and see if you're able now to access to your progress on Xbox Live

    Yeah that was it, I apparently at some point made XBox Live accounts using both my actual email address and @live.com with the @live.com being the one with my Sea of Thieves progress on it and absolutely nothing else.

    I suspect I didn't know my old Xbox Live account login info at the time I bought Sea of Thieves and just made a new one to play and then forgot about that.

    This is again why I really don't like not having the ability to merge accounts. Oh well, thanks for reminding me that might be an issue.

    I don't think I have cross play on but I only sign in the XBox Live when a game asks for it, I have not linked it in Steam nor do I use the Xbox Game Bar.

    Hi Baffled,

    Thanks for replying about the issue with the add on missing. We recommend logging on the
    account website for each profile and check the

    order history    . Then you will see which one owns it. Then on the console, go to my games and apps>highlight sim4>hit the start or menu button>go to manage game>ready to install>the add on should be there. Also keep in mind there is a service alert right
    now also. You can check the status
    here    . If still having issues you can contact support.

    When you go to Contact Us,follow these steps to request a call from support:



    • Step 1 ----select Xbox One
    • Step 2 ----select see other options then subscription changes
    • Step 3-----select show contact options

      Step 4 ----select request call from support

    Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.
