Where did "lords of the fallen" sale go?

I saw the sale on Tuesday around 9 in the morning, bought a Xbox live points card after work and when I got home the sale price was gone? What happened Microsoft ? I snapped a pic of the search from the Xbox one app, so I know I didn't imagine it. Now
I wasted money on a card that I am not using now!

Nice write-up, Azrael, and I agree for the most part, although the controls still aren't as responsive as I'd like.

This is indeed a tribute to the DS franchise, but it does drag along some of that baggage as well. I too had trouble with the Commander and, frankly, I'm tired of the whole "fight the boss AND his minions" thing. Especially when I had to do the same thing
in the Graveyard, too...

Also, the cheap stuff is intact as well. It's infuriating when enemies can hit you through obstacles, yet I can't return the favor. Additionally, I have a tower shield that's supposed to block 100% physical damage, yet I still take damage with the shield
up even when I've got plenty of energy in the tank.

Having said all this, though, I am enjoying the game, and do recommend it to anyone who was curious about DS, but was put off by the difficulty. I'm definitely happy with this purchase!

So the game looks a lot like "Dark Souls"... and to be fair, it plays a little bit like "Dark Souls" too.

Think "Dark Souls" with better graphics and more responsive controls.

Think a "Dark Souls" that you can actually play through without having to consult a Youtube Guide. Sure, this takes away from the fun of coming onto internet forums and telling people who found it hard "Oh, I figured it all out myself" but you get to have
fun in the actual game instead.

At first the 3 base classes, "Warrior", "Cleric" and "Assassin" (who can be even further generalised to "Heavy", "Medium" and "Light") might seem a bit basic... but there are a wealth of weapons and armour and spells that all allow you to branch out in very
specific and creative directions.

As you do stuff and kill enemies you gain experience which you may bank to up your character's skill set.

The longer you go without banking... the greater the reward you get for killing further enemies... but if you die... you lose your stuff... and you'll have to go back and pick it up... if you can... and if you can do it quickly enough.

It doesn't start draining like the sands out of a sand timer... but after a bit of time a percentage of your lost XP will start to fade away... until it's all gone.

All the fun of a moody Dungeon Crawler without the frustration.

This doesn't mean it's easy.

I killed the first Lord easy enough... he's at the end of the Tutorial.

When I hit my first actual boss... the Commander... well let's just say he took my lunch money... a few times... before I went and did not only a little more exploring but started to experiment with different weapons and loadouts which is what ultimately
lead to success.

Visually it's not as polished as most triple AAA titles on the ONE (though it looks much better than "Dark Souls") but despite this it still looks great and atmospheric.

If you're looking for a great solo Dungeon Crawler then you'll probably find yourself pleasantly surprised with this one.

 

Lords of the Fallen was never meant to be part of the sale & was removed

 

And yet, the developer was surprised to find it was removed. They even stated it was supposed to be part of the sale. Bad move on Microsofts part.

 

We don't know the exact details of what happened there so we can't speculate on where fault lies. The dev did say they are talking to Microsoft about it so perhaps it will be in a future sale.

 

I understand that it not on sale anymore, but it still hurts that I was working during the brief time.

 

Yeah, it's bullcrap pulling it. And the only other game I'd really want from the sale is Forza Horizon 2 which is, for some reason, only bundled with Forza 5; a game I already own. Just give me Horizon 2 for 25 or 30 bucks by itself.
