    Looking to go back to the first Xbox. As the latest one is kinda dull and nothing interesting is releasing soon

    I know it has nothing to do with games and also it’s quite a good feature especially since I haven’t used a dvd player for years

    The DVD player kit was made to enable playing of DVD movies on the original Xbox, it has nothing to do with games.

    If you're interested in watching DVD's, a standalone DVD player or a Blu-ray player would be the far better option.

    XBOX DVD playback kit

    If you're talking about the original XBOX that was made back in 2001 then you'd need the DVD Playback Kit which unlocks the functionality of the XBOX to play DVD's. It doesn't however have anything to do with playing newer XBOX games. It's just for playing
    DVD's in the XBOX.

    Information about them can be found here. And you can purchase one from Amazon directly for around $7
    here.

    I cannot find any sort of information about any sort of patch that allowed you to do this without the DVD Playback Kit.
