Whenever I click the guide button, it does what the title says. I tried hard restarting, but now it signed me out and I can't even sign into my profile. Basically all I can do is click on games and play them, but if it asks me to sign in to my account for
like multiplayer, I can't. This is extremely frustrating. Please help!

Screen Dims When Accessing Xbox Menu

I apologize if there's already a post for this, but I couldn't find anything.

Whenever I press the Xbox button to access the menu, my screen dims. When I press it again, the screen brightens. However, the menu does not open. I can't get back to the home screen unless I restart my console. When at the home screen, if I go up to my
profile avatar to try accessing it that way, the same thing happens: I press it and the screen dims, I press again and it lightens up. I can't access my settings, friends, messages, nothing.

Any tips on how to fix this? Thank you!

Black screen from new update

okay so I just updated my console and it turns on but instantly signs me out and stays black screen for what is supposed to be the home screen. When I push the guide button on my controller nothing happens. No popup. Nothing. The screen turns a slightly
greyer for a second then back to black. When I hold my guide button the turn Xbox turn controller screen pops up but that is it. I am connected to WiFi also. If that means anything.

Help please.

Just gave it a whirl and it looks like it made things worse.

I booted up the X1 and when it loaded up my account wasn't signed in. I then went to sign in and nothing happens. The screen dims briefly like it was trying to transition everything to my settings, but nothing happens. So now I can't even sign in. haha

The controller is connected, and will turn the console on without being plugged in. But the function is not working properly. When I try to use controller for anything, it lags a bit and typically will have that error code I mentioned pop up. When I press
the button on the controller to open up the guide, the screen just dims down and nothing will show.

Whenever I click on the “+Add New” below my gamerpic is when it loads for a few seconds and then nothing happens and it sends me back to the home screen.

That actually reminds me - the DLC I do have is on my internal and I can't move it to the external. Every time I try, the screen dims like it's about to ask me if I want to transfer it to the other drive and then after a few moments, the screen goes back
to normal and nothing happens.

How to change the dim screen timer:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to pull up the guide
Select Setting
Select Preferences
Select Idle options
Choose your preferred time
