Please disable Windows' communications audio adjustments by right-clicking the speaker icon in your taskbar and select Sounds. Go to the Communications tab and choose Do nothing. Click Apply, then OK.

And then check your audio device settings. Open Sound Settings and check which device is being used. If you see options like “Headphones –Hands-Free AG Audio” and “Headphones – Stereo,” ensure that you select the stereo option. You can also disable the hands-free profile from the Device Manager if you don’t use it.

If you do not need your Microsoft, you can disable it because Windows switches to a lower-quality mode when it detects an active microphone. Disable your mic in Sound Settings or Device Manager to see if that stabilizes the audio.

Next is to update audio drivers and the Xbox App. Please make sure that your audio drivers are up to date by visiting your device manufacturer’s website. And for the Xbox App ensure that it is updated to the latest version.

Then disable the Xbox overlay and check if the audio improves.

When you plug a headset into a controller, the game audio and any chat you do is automatically goes through the headset speakers. Check the audio settings on the guide to make sure they are not low. press the Xbox button on the controller, move all the
way to cog icon, and select the audio option, from there you should be able to see the volume and mixer options for the headset.

For some reason the voices during movies or cut scenes are extremely low. If I adjust my volume they don't change and everything else goes up or down. I tried changing my audio settings and nothing works. If I put it on mono then everything works as it should but the overall volume is still low.

Are you using a wireless headset plugged into the controller? I find that, without an audio adapater, the general volume level is pretty poor, whether it be through my expesnive headset or my cheap in-ear headphones

I have connected directly to this TV with HDMI. Video worked fine. Not sure if audio worked because I don't have any speakers connected to the Pioneer TV (everything goes through Onkyo receiver). I've tried plugging into the blu ray port - still no luck.
I tried hooking up my neighbor's xbox through the receiver. It didn't work. I actually have 2 of the same Onkyo receivers. I tried through the other Onkyo receiver - no audio/video.

Is there any reason the xbox wouldn't work through the receiver, but I have no problems hooking up blu ray players, etc in the same manner? I really need to run it through the receiver because I don't have speakers hooked up to this TV. HDMI should pass
video and audio from xbox to the receiver and then to the TV right? Thanks for any help!!!

I don't get scared at scary stuff. I've seen all kinds of scary movies and video games through out my life. The only thing that gets me is when the audio is low and you have to turn the audio up to hear what someone is saying. Then a loud noise happens
and since I turned up the audio now my eardrums are blown lol.
