Whenever I go to install Sea of Thieves I get an unhappy face instead of an install message

Hi, MacnairYT! Have you tried resetting the MS store and Xbox app? Kindly also check if you have any pending updates using this link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo... or select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update , and then select Check for updates.

If there's nothing pending, kindly right-click the Start button on your taskbar, and then select Windows Terminal (Admin). In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter:

Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage

Then try installing the game again.

Are you able to install other games?

Let's also try some steps to isolate the issue. Kindly go to Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > locate Microsoft Store > click Advance, and Reset. Do the same for Xbox app then try installing the game again.

Also the problem with the game not installing is only for sea of thieves but for other games they get installed but when I launch them it pops up with the error code 0x803f8001 while for sea of thieves it pops up when I try to install the game.

I advice that you go to My Games & Apps and press the Select button over Sea of Thieves to administer the game and check if the Add-On is there ether already installed or under ¨Ready to Install¨ if not then the Developers of Sea of Thieves have said that
they know this issue and those who haven't gotten their Pre Order bonuses automatically when installing the game digitally they will send the add-ons to you in a Xbox Message.
