When will Xbox notifications start working for favourites coming online?

They work for me. I have it set to favourites only and they work every time.

The SmartGlass beta doesn't display notifications when favourite friends come online though, even though I have it set to do so. I get notifications in it when someone sends me a message, so the notifications are working - just not for friends coming online.
It is a beta though, so maybe that's not working properly right now.

Unfortunately many other users have been reporting this same problem in other forum threads. Microsoft has not communicated that this is a known issue, but it is clearly a problem.

What I can recommend is to verify that you don't have any privacy restrictions at this link

https://account.xbox.com/Settings

And verify that it is not a console firmware problem:

Go to Settings>System>Console Information

And restart keeping your games.

Note that the console accounts will be removed, so you will need to have the email and password for each account to log back in.

Your progress, achievements, purchases and other data will remain intact, don't worry about that, you won't lose any data, the only thing you need to do is to log in again.

If what I mentioned didn't work, it's just a matter of waiting, unfortunately there is no estimated time from Microsoft.

Yeh me and my friends not getting notifications when favourites come online useing android xbox smartglass, beem a few weeks now.

The freinds online notifications are only for your favorite friends.

set any friends you want to be notified about coming online to favourite.

and you will be notified when they come online
