when will windows 10 and xbox merge?

The next big update. Hopefully it's Cortana and no doubt the merged Windows 10 store for a start.

they merged it all in the when Xbox one came out, you used to be able to change the Microsoft account associated with the Xbox account but this has been merged for over 10 years now.

Right, I know currently, or with Windows 10, you will not purchase one game and play on either pc or xbox. However, with the merging (though they run separately) of OS', is this a possibility in the future? If so, then a market dominated by OS's would be
interesting. For example: You buy a "console" and choose the OSlaystation, Xbox, Steam, Nintendo. Boy, that sounds stupid when typed "aloud".

your on the latest windows 10 update or you are on windows 11, you need to download the xbox app to use most windows games now, no way around it.

xbox is integrated into windows as microsoft are merging the lot.

and its not the xbox version, it is windows version but you need the xbox app to install and play now, xbox is not just a console it is a gaming platform, if you don't like it then i suggest moving away from the free OS called windows.
