Gaijin has a market place to buy and sell a lot of the games contents (decals/camouflages) though this is currently only available for PC players and not those who play the game on a console which means they are very limited and monetarily penalised if they wish for something specific as they are only able to purchase a chest/crate and hope they get what they want which is not too dissimilar to gambling.

When will Microsoft allow Gaijin (War Thunder) to allow console players to access and use the games marketplace.

Hello, Alex thanks for entering in contact here on our community

My name is João, I'm a Xbox gamer just like you and I will be glad to help you in your matter today!

I see that you have a question about a marketplace in your game using the console. Consoles have very strict rules, and as they are a different platform from PC, certain games have different rules for PC, mobile and console users.

As we are only Xbox gamers here in the community using information from the internet to help you, I recommend you to contact the Xbox/Microsoft support so they can provide you further informations about the reason why the marketplace for this game is not allowed for console players.

You can contact them using this link below:

I appreciate your patience and understanding!

When will Microsoft allow Gaijin (War Thunder) to allow console players to access and use the games marketplace.

The reason console players cannot use the Gaijin Marketplace in "War Thunder" while PC players can primarily revolves around the business and policy constraints imposed by console manufacturers, Sony (PlayStation) and Microsoft (Xbox):

    1. **Third-Party Marketplace Restrictions**: Both Sony and Microsoft have strict policies regarding third-party marketplaces and in-game economies. They generally do not allow external marketplaces where real money or equivalent virtual currencies can be used for transactions that aren't directly managed by their stores. This is to maintain control over transactions, ensure revenue from sales, and protect the platform's ecosystem.

    - **Revenue Share**: These companies often require a cut (up to 30%) from any transaction that occurs on their platforms. Integrating the Gaijin Marketplace would mean Gaijin Entertainment would need to negotiate sharing profits from marketplace transactions, which might not be financially viable or align with their business model.

    2. **Security and Control**: Allowing an open marketplace on consoles introduces risks related to security, fraud, and the potential for abuse. Console platforms have stringent security measures to prevent unauthorized in-game purchases, hacks, or scams that could affect their reputation and user trust.

    3. **Cross-Platform Challenges**: Although "War Thunder" supports cross-play, integrating marketplace features across different platforms with different policies is technically and legally complex. The marketplace would need to be tailored to comply with each console's specific regulations, which might not be feasible or could lead to an uneven player experience across platforms.

    4. **Regulatory Compliance**: Different regions have different laws regarding digital goods, gambling (due to loot boxes or similar mechanics), and consumer protection. Managing this on a console scale adds layers of compliance that a PC platform might not face to the same extent due to its more open nature.

    5. **Historical Precedents**: Posts found on X and forum discussions indicate that Gaijin Entertainment has tried to negotiate with Sony for more open cross-platform features, including market access, but has not received clearance. This reflects broader industry trends where console manufacturers are cautious about opening their platforms to third-party economies.

    6. **Technical Implementation**: Even if policy allowed it, the technical integration of a marketplace that works seamlessly across console hardware, with the need for secure in-game purchasing, account linking, and cross-platform data management, would be a significant undertaking.

While this situation can be frustrating for console players, these restrictions are standard in the gaming industry across various titles. Some players have suggested alternatives like creating a separate, console-specific marketplace or improving account linking features for partial access, but these solutions would still face many of the same hurdles. Until console manufacturers relax their policies, or developers find a mutually beneficial agreement, console players of "War Thunder" will remain without access to the full marketplace features available to PC players.

When will Microsoft allow Gaijin (War Thunder) to allow console players to access and use the games marketplace.

Game consoles are closed platforms, and you must use their store. You agreed to do this when you purchased a subsidized piece of hardware

This goes for all three majors

World of Tanks for Xbox 360 exclusive.

Gaijin's War Thunder is (unfortunately) coming to PS4 and I personally think that it's going to stomp out Wargaming's games.

What I really don't like is that such titles are coming to console in the first place. I just don't think that they're going to play well.
