    When will gamertag recycling occur again?


    I know this occurred about 2 years ago, but I didn’t get the chance, but I believe this should be a annualy thing.

    There won't be anymore mass releases. As of 2016, if a person does not sign into their account for 5 years, it will be freed up for use.

    There won't be anymore mass releases. As of 2016, if a person does not sign into their account for 5 years, it will be freed up for use.

    Recycling a gamertag...

    If the gamertag was created in the V1 XBL days, it could take a while to be recycled, but if it was one that was converted to the Xbox 360, it most likely won't be recycled at least for quite some time. There is no telling when a tag will be made available
    again.

    Hi, please be aware that Gamertags are used outside of Xbox, and can also be in use with Zune. If the Gamertag has recently been deleted, it's unsure when it will be recycled to be available again.
