When when i try to connet my wired xbox 360 controller it says "driver error"

When i try plugging in my xbox 360 wired controller it just says Driver error i tried to ignore it and tried turning on the controller all it did was do the noise of unpluging something out off your pc so then i tried going to device manager to update the driver but all it did was say that i got the best latest drivers installed for it what do i do to fix this?

When you say 'remote' I guessing you mean your Xbox 360 controller on your PC?

Is your 360 controller a wired controller? If you've attempted to connect a wireless controller via a play and charge it won't work as the play and charge doesn't transfer data, it just charges the battery or powers the controller.

There are no drivers to install on Windows 10 as the drivers for all Xbox controllers are already included in the OS.

So to understand the situation you are on Windows 7 and you cannot find the driver for the Xbox controller but a Logitech controller does work when wired, is that correct?

If so, are you trying to use an Xbox 360 controller, and have you tried it wired as well?

Yes my logitech wired works , but my xbox unwired doesn't . Is there a specific drivers for my xbox unwired that i should try ?

It's very tough thing to troubleshoot, as it might be the OS and drivers, or the controller. I'd say check the USB port you're using on the PC, try a different one. Is this a wired controller, or are you using the Xbox 360 wireless connector?

The USB play and charge kit for xbox 360 does NOT make it a wired controller
- only transfers power, not data. You will see it as a device but there's no driver or any software that will make this work.

The only way to connect a wireless xbox 360 controller to a PC is with the xbox 360 USB wireless adapter for windows. You can also buy a purely wired xbox 360 controller from xbox or a 3rd party manufacturer: they all will work.

I would suggest an xbox one controller as those wireless controllers DO turn into a wired controller when a micro USB cable is used. Bluetooth is also available on newer ones.
