When we are forced to migrate our Mojang account to Microsoft, will we be forced to buy...

I've owned this game for upwards of 5 years, and migrated to a microsoft account. It no longer allows me to use my mojang account to log into minecraft.net, instead forcing me to use the mojang account.

I don't agree with Microsoft forcing Minecraft users to switch from a Mojang account to a Microsoft account. They could easily add two-factor authentication to the existing Mojang account service so that argument is invalid. I can't help but feel that they've wanted to do this ever since Microsoft acquired Mojang back in 2014. Eventually, I believe they will also remove the Java Edition of Minecraft, perhaps in the next few years or so. This will force all existing players to buy the Bedrock edition which will generate a lot of revenue for Microsoft. I've had a blast with the game and if they want to delete my account because I refused to migrate then I say let them.

I agree with you that it is not a launcher bug, there is a big chance that you're signed in on a different Microsoft account.

Also, the reason why they migrated Mojang to Microsoft is that way they can better protect us and our account by increasing account security and adding new safety features to Minecraft.

When we migrate to a Microsoft account, we will be able to activate two-factor authentication, which makes it much harder for intruders to access our account. They will also roll out other player safety features over time.

Also, I agree with you that Mojang is part of Microsoft, however, there is in-game information that is only available with the dedicated support for the game.

Also experiencing the same thing. I was able to play minecraft just this morning with the same account. Then when I tried logging in tonight, it says that I can only play the demo version. This only happened after I migrated to a microsoft account the other day. Get this fixed, microsoft. If you;re going to force us to migrate from Mojang accounts, then make sure the foundation is properly laid!
