    When using my Microsoft account I can't play any games


    Whenever I try to play Minecraft or Sea of Thieves I am unable too. Every time I try to launch either of these games I am prompted to change my Microsoft account settings, doesn't even tell me which settings to change that would allow me to play the game. I would like to know what setting to change and where to change it so I can play online games with my friends.

    First, welcome to the Xbox community. I believe this is happening due to how your account is configured, probably your privacy settings do not allow you to play multiplayer games.

    To change these settings please use the instructions below.

    Visit the website: https://account.xbox.com/en-us/settings

    Make sure you have the correct account logged in

    In the privacy tab check that the options, "You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text" and Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites" are set to allow.

    Also, check the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab, and see if the ''You can join multiplayer games'' option is set to allow.

    Microsoft account balance. It’s asking for another method of paying

    I have been trying to use my Microsoft account to purchase items in my game. I have never had issues before. Now, when I try to make a purchase it doesn't even list my Microsoft account as an option, only Amazon Pay or PayPal or pay by credit card. I have more than enough money in my Microsoft account to make these purchases. My Microsoft balances have been expiring since I can't use them to make any purchases.

    There sadly is no way to transfer any titles to another account. All games are locked to the account that claimed them and can't be played without an Xbox Gold Subscription.

    If it expires, it will renew when you choose to do so.
