When preforming an offline update xbox shuts off completely and doesn't restart

This seems like a hardware issue, if you can't complete the installation, it's probably something related to your storage.

Please, try using a different USB device to copy the update (OSU) file, in case it still does not work, I recommend you submit a repair request.

By the update software fix do you mean the offline update
support.gtm.xbox.com/.../offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool and if so did you follow every step carefully to ensure it was successfully completed? One missed step and it will not preform correctly.

Hey there! Try going into Settings, Power, Restart now. This will ensure that your system is completely shut down and restarted. If that doesn't work, again in Power, choose Turn Xbox off. When it is fully shut down, unplug the power cord from the back of
your console for 2 minutes and then try again. One of these methods usually fixes freezing issues.

Arranged for return under warranty, just to recap, it wont update online, it will update offline, then after no other issues playing games etc, will restart if set to always on, it wont restart after a full shut down, the xbox one x intro movie doesn't
play, goes straight to trouble shoot screen.

I definitely have the same problem since the last update. Completely shutting off the Xbox and restarting it seems to fix it, but it still happens every few days at the moment.
