    I got a new XBox Series X for Christmas, plugged it into my wired ethernet connection (the same one I was using for my PS4 console with no issues), and shortly after I did this I noticed my internet started to drop out across all of my devices. I tried disconnecting from my switch and running a cable directly to my modem, I also tried other cables, but it's the same result. I first thought there was an issue with my internet, but contacted my service provider, and there was no issue.

    So I finally decided to try disconnecting the ethernet cable and using Wifi. This solved my internet connectivity issues, but now I can only use the Xbox on wifi, or it causes the issues again.

    Has anyone else experienced this? would it be a problem with the ethernet port?

    Did you manage to fix the connectivity issue? My Series X constantly drops connection to xbox live/internet despite an ethernet cable being used.

    What is the max Internet Speed the Xbox Series X can receive.

    My internet speed is 1Gbps and my series x is plugged into the router via ethernet. But, My series x is only getting 200mbps with nobody on any devices and no games running in the background. Additionally, the latency on my series x never gets below 60ms whilst my other devices get as low as 9 ms. How do I fix this speed discrepancy on my series x.

    Problem solved. Unplugged the ethernet switch and re-checked all my wired connections again. When I plugged the Xbox back in, it worked.

    A strange issue with my Xbox series X. Sometimes it will be unable to sign I plug the Ethernet back in and it keeps working on wired connection.

    I have tried doing a network test while plugged in to Ethernet and it says the Xbox is connected to the internet.

    I’ve tried multiple Ethernet cables.

    The router didn’t recognise the Xbox as being plugged in, but now does after I signed in with wifi.

    The only thing that seems to be connected is sometimes when I turn it on and have this issue there are games updating or in the queue.

    Not sure how to fix this
    Each time you swap ethernet cables, ensure the console is not connected to power, ie OFF.

    As you "swap" cables to the router, which is ON, well you never know which Occam razor you might find!
