Why hasn't Microsoft done anything yet to fix the audio delay on Series X?

For me, it happens only in games as the UI sounds, YT videos, films, TV, etc. seem fine. It is only in games and that's what I use it for mostly! I'm using TV speakers only.

There's a 200ms lag from what i can tell even on Stereo Uncompressed, which increases as I move towards DD, DTS, and DA for HT. My 2.1 TV supports all three, and the lag is absolutely atrocious on DA for HT, and even DD and DTS are inusable. Stereo is just play, but collision sounds in racing games e.g. or going between the different cam views in Forza, the sound always tries to catch up.

NO lag at all when using headphones with controller. Interesting, eh? It's something along the HDMI chain for sure.

Come on MS, we've waited long enough. Where's the fix?

Anyone reading this at Microsoft: Please don't propose solutions over here, troubleshooting or runarounds. The issue is 100% from your end as you have already confirmed this.

Audio is delayed when using DTS over optical.

Latest update does not fix this unfortunately. However, just before the latest patch I noticed that if I play with the audio settings by constantly switching both hdmi and optical to different ouputs, I can sometimes randomly get the optical output to not
be delayed. I've then managed to watch a whole bluray with no audio lag, but it will go back to being delayed when I turn the xbox back on again.

When playing with the settings, it's also possible to get it to play audio via hdmi when the setting is set to off, so these controls definitely have issues.

Xbox Series X keeps shutting off

Same here, my day one SX died in May due to a power supply unit failure and now my second SX that was replaced is now having these crashes. Started on August 1st after 60 plus hours in Scarlet Nexus SX version then RE Village SX after I completed everything in the game then Deaths Door SX will not even make it to the starting menu. It seems the only games I can play are ones not optimized for SX titles. Microsoft really needs to fix these issues because by this Friday i'll have my third replacement and honestly scared to even play anything on it.

When will audio issues be fixed?

Disney and Netflix are in charge of, and make their own apps, so you would need to contact their support

Xbox Series X November Update broken sound.

I got the November update with all the changes, night mode, Dolby vision gaming, etc.. BUT

    The audio is literally broken.

SPEAKER AUDIO Defaults to STEREO UNCOMPRESSED prior it was on BITSTREAM OUT.

The speaker outputs are now HEADSET FORMAT, DOLBY DIGITAL, STEREO UNCOMPRESSED.

    GONE BITSTREAM OUT.

If you set Dolby digital the audio is VERY LOW. Before the update the audio was fine, this is connected to a 5.1 Samsung soundbar system with no issues.

Also selecting AUDIO PASS-THROUGH does nothing.

Also doing RESET AUDIO SETTINGS does not fix the problem.

    OS version.

    10.0.22000.2989(xb_flt_211109-2200).
I had the same issue, but i think that i solved. I have an lg c9 tv, and a onkyo reciver and atmos sound bar. First, I connect the xbox sx to the tv, and after that the reciver with the tv, through the Arc hdmi, who was configured to pass through. After that, i uninstalled the dolby atmos and the dts apps. I installed the apps again, and turn off the console. I disconect all the cables, get conected again, and turn on the xbox sx. After that i set the console audio to dolby atmos, and it works like it use to! UPDATE: AFTER SOME TIME, THE SOUND PROBLEM WILL APPEAR AGAIN!!

Dolby and DTS Bitstream Sound Lag

I wad experiencing lag issues as well and I found a fix that worked for me. I replaced the hdmi cable that came with the x1 and got a better quality cable. Now it works and I don't Getty audio lag.
