    When is DirectX 13?


    I'm a game developer right now, and I want to make a game. Will DirectX 13 be this year?

    If I made my game in DirectX 12 while DirectX 13 is out, I'll need to update the game (remake), so I need to know when will be DirectX 13.

    there is no word one way or the other one direct X 13 would be introduced.

    Direct X is a a hardware and software feature set. It is fully backwards compatible and it doesn't matter which features are using as long as they're still supported by windows

    Unless you're working on a major AAA game, I seriously doubt it will cause you any issues

    I did what the solution is showing in that link. But again when I follow the steps it says that the minimum requirements is a system that runs with DirectX 11.1 or higher and my system has DirectX 12.

    PS4 does not support DX11 or any version of DirectX. Just like Mac and Linux machines don't support DirectX even though they can have the same hardware as Windows machines.

    PS4 has its own API that can have the same or similar features to DirectX but it is not DirectX. It's Sony's own implementation of the features specifically for PS4. Just like OpenGL 4.x is equivalent to DirectX 11.x feature wise.
