When I'm playing a game on my external hard drive it keeps kicking me out

I moved my games from the internal hard drive to the external hard drive to see if my games won't kick me to the dashboard I tried it yesterday with a external hard drive I had never used for my Xbox. My games were never on the external hard drive they
were in the internal hard drive. Also I downloaded trove and it kicks me to the dashboard as well.

I have a Samsung M3 2TB external hard drive. I've copied my games over but I'm noticing issues. It keeps seemingly temporarily disconnecting and crashing me back to the home screen on my Xbox One.

Just tried to play a game of FIFA and a bit of Halo. Both played for a few minutes then dumped me back to the home screen without warning then displayed a popup at the bottom of the screen saying 'External Drive Ready'. It's like it's losing connection for
a split second and kicking me out. It seems to happen too just sitting on the dashboard with a notification coming up every coupe of minutes.

Any ideas? Other seem to have everything working perfectly.

Have you tried checking if the issue still persist while the external hard drive is unplugged? I've experienced the same thing and found out that it is my external hard drive that is causing the error though. I suggest to reformat your external hard drive.

I have tried all of these methods and sadly nothing has helped. I'm starting to believe that the problem may be something with my external hard drive as I had the game installed on there also. When I did these methods like doing the reset cycle and the restarting the xbox and keeping my games and apps the game didnt disappear and when i tried to re install it, it kept saying this item is corrupted. Same thing happens when I try to move the game out of my external hard drive into my xbox.

I already did that but I thought it was my external hard drive so I copied the game onto my internal hard drive and it’s still on my external hard drive would that be a problem also? Like as soon as I bought it from the play store on the Xbox store may be a day later it was crashing out on me
