When i turn it onn there nothing but a dark red screen

NO Red ring of death the Green Screen of death is due to people turning off their X1 when it updating. And Yes some disc drive and other thing. Nothing as bad as the RROD thing.

When you try to turn on the Xbox and the light is red does anything appear on the screen?

I have it too! I thought it was normal. It's kind of annoying when your playing in the dark or watching a movie but I don't know how or if you even can turn the lights off or if they are supposed to be red! Anyone else have a clue?

I took out the HDD and gently shake then put it back on.. nothing happens, green dot to red dot in 15 secs after turning it on.. without anything in the screen to show the error.

I took out the HDD without putting it bakc on... nothing happens, green dot to red dot in 15 secs after turning it on.. without anything in the screen to show the error, the same as with HDD.

This is very disappointing, specially that I have been very very careful of the unit as if it is so delicate to touch it, only to end up with the same red dot as others.

Hope you could suggest what else i missed doing.. except to ship it out.
