I have submitted a recovery request online but it has only given me a password reset and my son's account still is locked and i when i try to unlock it, it has the same response of "Try another verification method".

I have also followed the steps in unlocking the account, but still no luck in unlocking it.

There should be a "refresh" button near that verification textbox. Otherwise, you can refresh the entire webpage. Either way, it will reset the contents of that verification textbox, and hopefully it comes up with something a little
more legible to you.

There's no way to override this step, since it's an important tool in distinguishing you as a human, as opposed to automated programs (robots) running the "forgot password" system to reset and steal accounts.

actually, my microsoft account is still there, but when i opened my minecraft launcher it said get minecraft which is very odd, then i found out that my minecraft was suddenly gone from my account, i have proof that i bought it, can i get it back by some verifications or something. Kimmy I have an account on my dad's phone and Minecraft takes me to the Demo Minecraft. When I have the account on my dad's phone how do I get my account back? Plus it is hard to contact anyone as there is no customer service human only an AI bot.

Same here, I’ve done 2 achievements in Human Fall Flat which didn’t work so I tried again the next day, this time with Minecraft Dungeons & still the same problem. When I click on unlock it takes me straight to my installed games screen
