When I try to download a game from game pass to my other drive it doesn't work

We understand that you are trying to download your game on Drive E of your PC and is unable to because you are getting an error and forcing you to Drive C or D. Important Back up or transfer any files on your flash drive before starting this procedure. The contents of the flash drive will be deleted during the reformat process.

►Plug the USB drive or external storage device into your Windows 10/11 PC.

►Open File Explorer.

►Right-click your USB drive or external storage device.

►From the pop-up menu, select Format.

►In the File system dropdown menu, select NTFS.

►Select Start to begin formatting.

Solution 2: Reset Windows 10 store & Xbox app

1. Open Settings.

2. Go to Apps -> Apps & features.

3. Look for Microsoft Store/Xbox App and click it on the right side.

4. The advanced options link will appear. Click it

5. Next, click on the Reset button to reset Microsoft Store/Xbox App to the default setting.

 

Solution 3: Try reinstalling the Gaming Services package on your Windows 10 device:

1.       Right-click the Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen, and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

2.       In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter:

Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers

4.       Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC and try again.

It still doesn't, I also tried changing the default download location within the xbox app to the other drive, but when I try and download those larger games it still says I can't choose the other drive.

Why would the hard drive work for other games, but not for a downloaded Halo game? How can I get my money back for a game that doesn't work?
