Thanks for reaching out to the forums. In your case the console basically went into sleep mode. Personally have shut my console off with holding the Xbox button on the controller and going to turn off console. When I turned the console on again, it was at
exact same spot in game. This is also like I sleep mode. The only truely way of shutting it down completely is when you tap the Xbox button go to turn off console, or by holding the power button on the console until it shuts off.

You can do all of the above. The Xbox 360 safely shuts everything down when you turn the console off either via the power button or with the controller.

Turns out it was somehow trying to connect to either the xbox one s or xbox series s consoles in my house for some reason. Turning them off fixed it.

Sidenote: In all my experiences with wireless xbox controllers (xbox 360, xbox one, xbox series x/s) the sync button needs to be held to be put into pairing mode (quarter ring rotating clockwise /flashing xbox logo), while the button on the console needs a single press, if it helps anyone.

Thanks for the quick reply! The interesting thing is I had to fully log into my account again and relaunch _Halo 5: Guardians_ from the dashboard. The console did shut off it seems, and didn't go to sleep.

Xbox One X by holding down the power button on the console for ten seconds? Which

power mode is the Xbox One X set to?

I am shutting it off at the console holding down power then turn off. When I hold the power button to shut it off it doesn't seem to send any power of signals to the projector. I have tried both power modes and neither made any difference.
