Does it lose connection while playing online games or just while playing games like Skyrim while connected? I've noticed my xbox loses connection every 20 minutes or so if it doesn't have an 'alive' connection. I'm bridged through a PC. If the connection
doesn't get used either from the PC bridge (I keep that alive by using ping) or at the console itself my connection is dropped.

Have you checked if your controller is updated?

Update your controller on Windows 10/11 by using the Xbox Accessories app:

Open the Xbox Accessories app.

Connect your Xbox Wireless Controller by using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.

When the controller is connected, you'll see the message Update Required if an update is mandatory. Install the update.

Thank you for the response, and I'm using windows 10 for the time being. Also, my controller is connected by a USB to USB-c cable. Unfortunately, I don't have another Xbox controller to test, however, this problem doesn't occur while playing on my PC or while using my Xbox, just on the game bar and Microsoft taskbar.

When the batteries on your controller start to go funny things can happen. I've had my contoller die while I was in the midst of diving into a turn only to have my car stuck turning hard right when I turned it back on. I had to pull the battery pack and
turn the controller back on again to reset. It's happened a few times actually.

A patch was released for the xbox app, and that has fixed this issue for me. Used my PC mic while streaming earlier today without issue, so this seems to have been fixed, finally.

Same. Not sure if it matters but I'm using the Xbox beta app, mic worked with headset plugged into the controller while streaming.
