when i join xbox chat my friend gets cut off and says next to his name connecting

Everyone needs to check their NAT Type.

Go to Settings >> General >> Network Settings >> Test NAT Type

Ideally you would want an Open NAT type, but usually Moderate gets the job done just fine. If anyone has a Strict NAT

type then you'll need to do some port forwarding by logging into your router. I would still recommend doing this even if your NAT type is Moderate. Again Open NAT is ideal.

Before we get into he hard lets do the easiest thing first. Have everyone unplug their router for a few minutes and then plug it back in. If the problem persist after that, well, I have some excellent literature for you below.



You can get the ports opened by adding these to the port forwarding section after logging into your router

• Port 88 (UDP)
  
• Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
• Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
• Port 80 (TCP)
• Port 500 (UDP)
• Port 3544 (UDP)
• Port 4500 (UDP)

If you aren't sure about how to log into your router, then you can open up command prompt on your computer by pressing the Windows Key + R >> type in: cmd >> and then type: ipconfig

After doing that you'll see something called "Default Gateway" type in the number after it into your internet browser and VIOLA! Once you have access to your router just watch a view youtube videos about port forwarding or even google your routers
model number with "port forwarding" in the search.

My biggest gripe really is the lack of notification for a friend getting online. Then I would have to say next is turning party chat on when I join party chat...so annoying.

When I invite someone to party or join someone it says connecting and then it’s will say party chat disconnected and then I can’t join any of my friends does any one know how to fix?

and maby that it helps but since yesterday when i join my friend i get in a party on my own so it doesn't say anymore that i can't connect to his party.

I use a wired connection all the time and sometimes restarting my xbox and router will help when i cant even join party chat to begin with but it doesnt stop me from getting booted off of live as soon as someone else joins the chat later
