When i buy games i get them on two different consoles, how and why? :)

Hello.

In my house we have two xboxes, one for me and one for my son.

On my console i have put myself as home consol owner. On my son’s xbox when i go to settings he can choose set as home console so im not sure who is set as home console user there. Not me since i already are home owner on my own xbox.

When i buying games on his profile on his console i also get to download them on my profile at my xbox so we both gets them and can play at the same time.

The games i buy on his profile is purchased with my phone number. They show up in my library like i have purchased it earlier. He get the payment and order confirmation on his mail.

Only thing we have in comment is that i also have a user profile on his xbox, and he also have his user on my console. But the thing is he can not download any of my games that is bought with my profile. But i get all games he purchase.

I also play xbox online with his gold subscription even he isnt set as home user on my console.

Would really appreciate a explenation how this work and know it before i buying any more games.

It sounds like he has your console set as his Home. Anytime you make a purchase, it'll automatically download on your Home console.

You can only set 1 console as your Home at a time, but multiple accounts can set a console as their Home. In the scenario you gave it sounds like both you and your son have your console set as your Home. In order to check, you would need to sign into each
account and check that setting. It'll tell you if the console is already the Home for that account or ask if you want to make it your Home.

But one can only have one active console as home right?

My console is set as my home console. So in that way i cant be putted as home console on my sons xbox too? If it not have been a glitch?

Where can i find out who is putted as the home owner? On my console im the home user, but on his console he can click put this as home console.

Just readed about game sharing, one can put one family/friend as a home owner, and you put yourself as home owner on the other console and then we share all games. Is this legit?

So if i buy a digital copy of the game i can play it on the series s with my progress if i have a data transfer between the two consoles when i get them?
