    I brought the Gears of War 3 xbox from best buy and i saw that it should come with a free month like any other xbox did but when i tried to make my account it didnt allow me to upgrade it to the 1 month on my xbox already

    Usually free trials of xbox live will come with some consoles or games and is not something that is automatically granted to new accounts. If you have never had a free trial and did not get one with your devices or game maybe a friend as one they did not
    use. I believe you can only use 1 free trial and after that you must purchase it.

    Hello whitecarpet59, if you purchased it BRAND NEW, (not referb) the console comes with 3 free 1 month trials. To get one of these free trials you have to make a brand new xbox account, from the console. There will come a part in the set up, where it trys
    to promote you to gold, select "no thanks" and it will give you one of the 1 month free trials. If that is the way you did it, I would try to get an exchange from game stop.

    Yea same , my free trial doesn't expire till 11th and yet my gold isn't working at all been like this for days not till I brought a 12 month card did it start working.

    Xbox live service is terrible atm nothing but issues since I got on it with my xbox one.
