I have three boys that have been playing on our Xbox One for a while now and they are always arguing about screen time so I thought the Xbox Family app would help with that. One question I have is, will they lose all of there advancements and trinkets they’ve earned/gathered over this time or can they use the same profile they’ve always been using?

    :)

When adding the family app and start to create profiles, can the old multiplayer profileds be used in order to keep history?

Hi there Scott, my name is Gerardo, and I'm an Xbox player, just like you. I'll be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

If they have always been using the same account and didn't have separate accounts for each of them previously, then creating new accounts now to control screen time might not be ideal. Progress and advances are typically saved within the account where they were originally made. If any of them continue using the old account where the progress was made, only that child will have access to that progress.

However, if you are not interested in creating new accounts for each child and want to manage screen time for the shared account, you can add that account to the family group and control its playtime. Keep in mind that you will need to constantly adjust the screen time limits as each child takes their turn. This way, all three of them can continue to access their progress and advances within the shared account.

I hope I've made myself clear, and if you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask.

    Best regards.

My Profile Is Simply Gone? (Did not delete items)

So, update, I can view profiles on another account just fine, and I can download the other accounts profile, but I cannot do either on this one account, the only one that matters. I don't know why, but I simply cannot do anything on this one account, and
it is very frustrating. This happened after I was removed from an old accounts family, and then it asked me to create a new account for one, but that was on the xbox 360 itself, so I did not, created a new one on here, added to the family, and when that still
did not work, I tried deleting and redownloading the profile, and now I am here. So that's a big problem.

I bought a game on Xbox one in the Microsoft store but it says that it is having trouble downloading or finding it and to check back later? Help please?

Correct but when I do that the app says I need to sign in to a certain account that was created and then deleted. I have a new adult account that the console is signed into, but the app wants to sign into the old profile. That is the only profile that the app asks for and won’t let me link to it. My console is signed into a new profile but app wants to link to old profile that doesn’t exist anymore

    Adding family members

If they already have a gamertag, they download their profile to the Xbox console where the Family Pack owner account is, then are added under
Settings | Family | Add Family Member . Once added to the Family Pack, they can download their profile to other consoles and play on those.

I need help: adding a child profile

I believe you need to use your e-mail address.

Add a new member to your Xbox One family

    Overview

Creating a “family” on Xbox One helps you manage privacy and online safety settings for children.

Any adult in the family can add new members to the family. Adults and children in the family have different rights when it comes to managing the family. Learn more about who can manage the family.

To add a family member, follow these steps:

Note To add a new member to your family, you must be signed in to Xbox Live.

1.Press the Menu button on your controller, go to Settings on your console, and then scroll right to the FAMILY section. Select Add to family.

2.Choose who you want to add:

a.If the person you want to add to the family already has an Xbox Live profile saved on the console, select that profile.

b.The person must then sign in with the email address and password for their Microsoft account.

    c.Select Add to family again.

d.You should now see the person added to the family.

e.If the person you’re adding is a child, and you haven’t already associated their account with yours, you’ll need to provide parental consent in order to complete this process.

f.If the person you want to add has an Xbox Live profile, but it’s not saved on the console, skip to step 3. If the person doesn’t have an Xbox Live profile, skip to step 4.

3.If the person you want to add has an Xbox Live profile but has never saved the profile to this console, select Add new and have the person sign in by providing the Microsoft account and password associated with that profile.

4.If the person doesn’t have an Xbox Live profile, click Add new and have the person create an Xbox Live profile. Then, go back to step 2a and complete the process.

Note For information about how to create a new account and profile, see Manage your Microsoft account.

When you return to Settings, you’ll see the new profile under Family.
