When adding an account I keep being asked for console pin. SOLUTION HERE

Please try these steps.

If your Xbox is asking for your child's account PIN to sign in or make a purchase, and you don't have that PIN, you need to follow a process to recover or reset the PIN. The console may require you to enter your Microsoft account password to proceed.

To reset the PIN:

Sign In Attempt: When prompted, enter a 6-digit combination repeatedly (up to 3 times).

Reset: If the PIN is incorrect, the console may ask for your Microsoft account password.

New PIN: Follow the instructions to create a new 6-digit PIN and confirm.

If you forget your PIN:

Microsoft Account Password: If you don't remember your PIN, the console will ask for your Microsoft account password.

Reset: Use your Microsoft account password to reset the PIN.

If you can't access your account:

Restart the Console: A restart may help fix sign-in issues.

Removing and Adding the Account: Removing the account and then adding it again may resolve sign-in issues.

Restore Factory Settings: As a last resort, you can restore the console to factory settings, but this will erase all data

It really is quite a strange case, I suggest you try to delete the PIN, press the Xbox  button to open the panel.
Go to Profile & System > Settings > Account > Login, Security & PIN > Delete My PIN. If that doesn't work I believe you should format your console to see if the option disappears from your Xbox.

Hi Ezequiel, thanks for your response, unfortunately the steps you have suggested have not worked, I don’t get a prompt for my account password after entering a passcode, it just keeps going to the Home Screen

it does not identify your account's digital license, log into your web account and add the trusted device to your account.

the pin it asks for in installations and adding accounts, it's from your pc, it has a password, this is the pin it asks for, it's not the account password, on the pc a pin was added that is the password to access windows .
