When adding a new Xbox Controller as a device to my MS account, it states the WARRANTY...

So I bought a new Xbox Elite controller from Verizon, and upon entering the serial number to my MS account, it says the warranty is already EXPIRED.

This help support page must be old because there is no "Select submit a request." and the only option after selecting "Learn more" is

    "Info on warranty claims
If you need help with your warranty info, contact us."

How can I update my warranty expiration as I just bought this controller yesterday?

    :)

    Thank you for the reply.

I called MS support and they provided an email with a link to upload sales receipt . Upon review of the receipt, the MS support rep was able to update the warranty to the correct date.

Hi there! My name is Darhyl and I’d be more than happy to help you with your query.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this with your newly purchased Xbox elite controller. No worries, let me help you sort this out.

It's important to note that this is a public user-to-user community forum, and none of us here work for Microsoft.

Nothing to worry! You can request a warranty adjustment for your controller. Here's how:

In order to update your warranty, you will need to provide a valid sales/purchase receipt from an authorized retailer. If your retailer isn’t on this list, don’t worry, you can send it to Xbox Support anyway and they will validate it if it meets the following criteria.

A valid sales/purchase receipt will clearly indicate the retailer name, the purchase date, and the item purchased as shown in the example below (in English only). If the sales/purchase receipt does not clearly indicate these requirements, it will not be accepted.

When you have your proof of purchase ready, contact support to update your warranty.

Note: It may take up to 24 hours to update after it's been completed.

Try to contact them either through live chat or call back support. Here's how:

    Chat Support:

    1. Visit the Xbox Support website: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us/

    2. Click on the "Contact Us" button in the right of the screen.
    3. Select the issue you need help with and click on the "Next" option.

    4. Sign in to your Microsoft account.

    5. Follow the prompts to connect to a live chat agent.

    For Callback Support:

    Step 1 ----select Xbox One
Step 2 ----select see more options then Subscription changes
Step 3----- Select Show Contact options
Step 4 ----Select Request a call from support

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives a request for a call from support as a contact option.

If you're unable to contact them, try again at a later time.

I purchased it form Verizon and I have the same issue. How long did MS take to fix the warranty issue?

    Xbox controllers going crazy

Its also possible your control could be experiencing some sort of physical or software related malfunction that may not be fixable with an update.

If that's the case you have one of three options. You could troubleshoot it to see if you could fix it, buy a new controller, or se if its repairable or replaceable under warranty. I'll leave you with support links for the controller troubleshooter and for
the Xbox Devices page. Most controllers are covered by a standard 90-day manufacturer's warranty as listed in the fine print of the manual in addition to the warranty provided by the store on the receipt for the device (whether it was an extra purchase or
mandatory for the store to give.) Warranty information for most devices can also be found online, often times if you are within the warranty period and the device is truly broke they should ship you a new one.

    xBOX ELITE WARRANTY

You can send the controller in for repair but when the device is out of warranty there is a charge. If you buy a new controller you can add the extended warranty.
