What's wrong with my wifi connection? Also, what is MAC connection?

I've had my Xbox one s for a little over a year now. It was gifted to me by my brother in law. I don't know how long he has had it, but I know it was in storage for a while. The WiFi on it has worked since I got it, but all of a sudden today, its saying its not connected to the Xbox network. When i go to settings, it says that it's connected to my wifi, but NAT type and service info is "unavailable". When I click the "Test network connection" button, it pops up saying additional authentication is required. When I click authenticate now, it pops up to some website called msftconnecttest.com/redirect, but it says my device has been paused, and the page will close once I'm connected. The other option when it pops up with authentication is an "alternative MAC connection" and to be honest, I have no idea what that is.

Thanks for the idea, and insight. I'll have to try that out with the hotspot. However, I'm not traveling and it is my home wifi. its been connected to the same wifi ever since I got it, so I don't know why it started acting up like this. and I have never had To do any like website thing when connecting other devices to the internet. it is also an 8 year old Xbox, so I did have a suspicion that maybe its something with the Xbox being a little old. thanks for the help!

I remember getting something similar (many years ago) when I was trying to use my Xbox with a hotel internet service. Hotels have this two "user name password" browser-based login type internet. You have to first connect to the WiFi. Then, a browser opens, you have to enter the password and then the internet works.

I don't know if you are traveling or have a user name based internet at your home.

Eventually, what i did was, I used my personal phone mobile hotspot to get connected. Your situation might be different, but, if this helps, just posting it here.

I dont understand what your asking are you trying to connect more than one xbox to the same wifi? If so there shouldnt be an issue it is probably somthing to do with your internet you could try resetting the wifi router by unplugging it for 30 seconds and
see if it helps also you can check exactly whats wrong with your wifi by going to settings-> general-> network settings-> test network connection. This will tell you whats wrong and exactly how to fix it.

no I had an xbox that wouldnt connect to wifi and bought a new one that also didnt connect to wifi
